Berlin’s first international Roma theatre festival searches for a common tongue in eight performances from Germany, Italy, Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic: What unites Roma apart from hatred towards them? And how is it possible to communicate with the rest of society after centuries of oppression? These are stories of mothers who were forcibly sterilised. Of fathers who helped build states that persecuted them. Of girls* and women* who respond to sexualised violence with a curse and who explore how trauma influences intimacy and desire. These are dreams of a society in which ghettoisation becomes history once and for all.
Perhaps a common tongue is possible if everyone focusses on a vision of a future society without the oppression of women*, men*, non-binary people and children. If Roma are willing to talk and the Gadje listen carefully.

Unfortunately, the Grüner Salon is not barrier-free.
Volksbühne/Videothek
The barrier-free access to the Videothek is located on Linienstraße 227, 10178 Berlin, stage entrance. Unfortunately, the toilets are not barrier-free.
Ballhaus Ost
There is continuous, stair-free and level access (incl. kerb ramp) from the street to the building and to the theater hall with a width of at least 150 cm.
The performances take place in the hall, which is at ground level. In good weather, the bar is at ground level in the courtyard, in bad weather it is unfortunately only accessible via a staircase on the first floor.
Barrier-free parking spaces and sanitary facilities are also available. However, the barrier-free parking spaces are only available in the public area on the roadside. The theater cannot offer additional private parking spaces.
There is space for wheelchairs or walking frames in the performance hall/area and there is the option of reserving a particularly suitable seat and/or entering the hall early. Advance reservation is requested when purchasing tickets.

Das erste internationale Roma-Theaterfestival Berlins sucht in acht Performances aus Deutschland, Italien, Rumänien, Ungarn und Tschechien nach einer gemeinsamen Sprache: Was verbindet Roma* miteinander, außer dem Hass ihnen gegenüber? Und wie ist eine Kommunikation mit dem Rest der Gesellschaft nach Jahrhunderten der Unterdrückung möglich?
Es sind Geschichten von Müttern, die zwangssterilisiert wurden. Von Vätern, die Staaten mit aufgebaut haben, von denen sie verfolgt wurden. Von Mädchen* und Frauen*, die auf sexualisierte Gewalt mit einem Fluch antworten und die erforschen, wie Traumata die Intimität und Lust beeinflussen. Es sind Träume von einer Gesellschaft, in der Ghettoisierung ein für allemal Geschichte wird.
Vielleicht ist eine gemeinsame Sprache möglich, wenn sich alle auf eine Vision der Zukunftsgesellschaft ohne Unterdrückung von Frauen*, Männern* und Kindern fokussieren. Wenn Roma* bereit sind, zu erzählen, und die Gadje dabei gut zuhören.
Ein Projekt des RomaTrial e.V. in Zusammenarbeit mit der Volksbühne, dem Ballhaus Ost und dem Collegium Hungaricum Berlin. Gefördert durch den Hauptstadtkulturfonds.

Der Grüne Salon ist leider nicht barrierefei zugänglich.
Volksbühne/Videothek
Der barrierefreie Zugang zur Probebühne/Videothek befindet sich in der Linienstraße 227, 10178 Berlin, Bühneneingang. Die Toiletten sind leider nicht barrierefrei zugänglich.
Ballhaus Ost
Ein durchgehend zugänglicher, stufenloser und ebenerdiger Zugang (inkl. Bordsteinrampe) von der Straße zum Gebäude und zum Veranstaltungsbereich von einer Breite mit mind. 150 cm ist vorhanden. Die Vorstellungen finden im Saal statt, dieser ist ebenerdig. Die Bar ist bei gutem Wetter ebenerdig im Hof, bei schlechtem Wetter leider nur über eine Treppe im ersten Stock zu erreichen. Es sind zudem barrierefreie Parkplätze sowie Sanitäranlagen verfügbar. Die barrierefreien Parkplätze finden sich jedoch nur im öffentlichen Raum am Straßenrand. Das Theater kann keine eigenen Parkplätze anbieten.
Im Veranstaltungssaal/-bereich ist Platz für Rollstühle oder Rollatoren gegeben und es gibt die Möglichkeit der besonders geeigneten Platzreservierung und/oder den Saal vorzeitig zu betreten. Um eine Voranmeldung wird beim Kartenkauf gebeten.
